Sure! Personally, I'd reshape it for good polar response integration to whatever HF horn pattern through the XO BW and to get away from any parallel walls.Originally Posted by leifchristensen
The 210 is tuned to ~35 Hz with dual vents, so halve the cab and number of drivers, vents and it's still ~35 Hz. For best SQ/max dynamics though, using a sealed rear chamber XO'd to a ~matching (highly damped, efficient) 'sub' system is the way to go.

I?m not giving up:
have thought about trying to design a full 210 sans reflex
with the 2 drivers on a vertical line like a horizontal 210, BUT with the horn standing
have recalced the throat and the mouth to
mouth:59,01x32,22 inches
throat:32,5x9,81 inches (original)
curved sides
flat bottom and sloped top
unchanged rear chamber
will this work anyone?

This will require a very low XO point for good summation unless sitting many meters away, so a square four driver array with a horn just large enough to cover the XO BW seems a better choice overall.

I have also been very interested in the 210 split, in fact I posted about it some time ago in a thread about "the best enclosure for 515B's" GM kinda made the observation that "Best" is a very large moving target so to speak! anyways I have been interested in building the 210 split with angled sides no wider at the mouth than about 28-30 inches to facilitate getting thru a standard doorway, but I too have been currious about sealing the cab or how best to tune a reflex chamber etc. I've even thought of a sealed chamber at the bottom for a sub? I'd love to hear any thoughts or suggestions, Thanks David

on a 210 that could fit through a standard doorway.
These speakers can be taken apart...
The subs are 4x4x2, the mid bass side walls bolt to the wings and back chamber and voile!

I can never go back to wife friendly speakers...
She don't like loud music period...but the new house I just bought is smaller than the
last one and the stereo goes in the great room until I get around to
building another media room. That was the agreement.
Why don't all houses come with big Altec rooms!
But it's okay...we are back in the American South where we want to be and
she'll be fine...I hope....
